It is on this rainy morning that we officially announce the closure of Wild Fibre Savannah. We’ve had a great run, and we’d like to thank all of our customers and friends for your never ending support. It is bittersweet, but the time has come to move on. We will be open until the end of the current SCAD quarter, with an official closing date to be announced soon. In the meantime, we will continue to host our weekly knitting nights and we are excited to announce that all inventory is now on sale. For more updates, be sure to follow us on our Facebook and Instagram, as we will be offering more details there as they come up.

Fibers Open Studio 2014

Another year, another Open Studio. A successful night indeed filled with many great artists and many great friends; we honestly loved too much for camper to keep up. Below, merely a few highlights:

If you know anything about us here at Wild Fibre, then you know our heart belongs to Loopy Mango, specifically their gorgeous Big Loop yarn. And we know you love it, too. So, as an early Valentine’s Day gift to all of you, every Loopy Mango Product in store will be 20% OFF the entire week leading up to Valentine’s Day! That’s right, 20% off all Loopy Mango purchases between February 9th until February 14th. And, as an added bonus, all preorders for Loopy Mango made at Wild Fibre between now and Valentine’s Day will also receive that 20% off, just in case the color or yarn you want isn’t in store. Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid.

While our Fall/Winter Color Palette Sale of Navy Chartreuse is still in full swing, we can’t help but look forward to what Spring has in store.

Radiant Orchid, the Pantone color of 2014 is a vibrant purple with lots of combination opportunities, and as such, we are excited to be choosing it as the central focus of our next color palette sale. Yes, come the first signs of Spring, our mantle will be in for some serious change. And while choosing Radiant Orchid was easy, deciding on a single accent color might prove a challenge. I myself am drawn to a good lipstick red, or perhaps a more neutral muted lime…

As you locals know, the weather in Savannah currently alternates daily between 30 degrees and 70, and looking at pictures of beautiful orchids and other such spring-y flowers has us really wishing those 30 degree days would just bugger off. In the meantime, we’ll just keep pinning more to our Color Palette board.

With the recent success of our Knit Fast Die Warm tote bags we are now pleased to offer several new products created exclusively for Wild Fibre by the talented Paige Striebig.

These items are now a available both in store and on our Etsy site, so be sure to check them out!

We are very excited about these products and will be adding many more over the coming weeks, along with an eventual reissue of the ever popular Knit Fast Die Warm totes.

New In: Classic Elite

Our first new inventory of the new year comes from Classic Elite, a popular brand here at Wild Fibre. We have restocked a couple favorites and are also trying some new.

First up is Magnolia, a 70/30 dk weight merino and silk single ply blend with a great hand and excellent stitch definition.

We’ve also added in more Toboggan, a favorite of ours that’s already selling out quickly. This beautiful chunky weight is a 70/30 blend of merino and superfine alpaca, making it pleasantly soft and cozy. What’s best is that we now have it in practically every color!

Our first new yarn is La Gran, a chunky mohair, wool, and nylon blend produced exclusively for Classic Elite.

Finally, our new obsession, Inca Alpaca. This worsted weight pure alpaca is so soft we just had to have it in as many colors possible.

New Year’s is always so great isn’t it? Resolutions… a time to look back, start new, and make plans… We here at Wild Fibre have lots of great plans and ideas for 2014, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

In terms of looking back, I have to say joining Instagram was my favorite Wild Fibre moment of 2013, as it allows us to share great moments with both friends and loyal customers alike.

As for resolutions, my favorite resolution is simple: Learn Something New. With that, I’ll guide you to our New Year’s post for 2013, Knitting in the New Year, and its follow-up, Bringing it Home. If knitting is already your forte, we’d be happy to suggest a multitude of project ideas or new skills to try. As always, we’re here to help.

Holiday Hours

Today is our last open day before Christmas, so we highly encourage you to run in for your last minute gifts now! This is also our last post for 2013, so take note:

We will re-open Monday December 30th for regular hours and we will be open on New Year’s Day!

Speaking of the New Year, we’ll be having a small sale the day of, and in the next few weeks we will be announcing new classes. For that purpose, we would love to hear from you!
